KUALA LUMPUR: The management team for actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin denies that she had issued any official statement regarding the details of her recent filing request for a divorce, including the date for the proceeding which had gone viral on social media yesterday.
In the statement released today, Fazura's manager Iman Tang said neither the team nor the appointed legal counsel were involved in the alleged official statement.
"Her management, legal counsel teams, and Fazura herself can confirm that no statement was made by Fazura since the news of her filing for divorce broke last week.
"The filing made was a request for divorce in accordance with the law," Tang said in the statement.
Following that, he urged everyone to refrain from speculating on the couple's marital affairs.
"Please stop from making any assumptions or statements which could lead to all sorts of speculations," he added.
Last week, local entertainment enthusiasts were shocked when news of Fazura filing for divorce broke out.
The filing was made a day before Fattah turned 34.
Fattah and Fazura married on Nov 27, 2017. They have a daughter, Nur Fatima Aisya, who is now four.
