KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong actress Anita Yuen came to Malaysia in July to film her upcoming movie, Mum's Big News.
The 53-year-old also seized the opportunity to savour several delicious Malaysian dishes.
In a recent interview with Sin Chew Daily, Yuen said the first thing she did when she arrived here was to taste a durian.
She also tried asam laksa and lok-lok for the first time.
"I wanted to go to a night market, but my crew members didn't allow me to," said the award-winning actress.
"Malaysian food can be rather hot and spicy, but it's great."
Yuen added that she "gained weight" while in Malaysia and struggled to wear some of her outfits.
"I sometimes have to suck my stomach in to button up," said Yuen.
Mum's Big News sees Yuen playing Rita Wong, a middle-aged woman who discovers her unexpected pregnancy while she and her husband are planning their retirement.
The film which will be released on Chinese New Year 2025 also stars Malaysia's very own Chan Fong, Tong Bing Yu, Juztin Lan and Miko Wong.
