KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Fazura created quite a stir online when she was seen attending court yesterday accompanied by five burly bodyguards.
However, her manager, Iman Tang, said that the management was responsible for the safety of the 40-year-old artiste.
According to Harian Metro, he said that the use of bodyguards was not at all done to boast or create 'content'.
"It is usual for Fazura to have security personnel with her when attending an event.
"I also agreed that Fazura should be accompanied by five bodyguards when she appeared in court.
"Because there was an incident where someone had pulled her and there were also some who tried to take advantage of her while they were having a photo taken with her," he said in the report today.
Iman added that there might not be proper crowd control if there were only one or two bodyguards present.
"We did not know what the situation would be at the court then, so I was okay with her being accompanied by five guards.
"I just told all her bodyguards not to be rough with the media because everyone there was working," he said.
With the bodyguard issue blowing up in social media, Iman added that there was no way to please everyone.
"To me, the matter should not be blown out of proportion since there are times when we can't please everybody.
"If we don't use the guards and an incident happens, then people will ask why we didn't have them.
"If we utilise their services, people also talk about it so, as I say, we can't please everyone," he said.
