#SHOWBIZ: Mawar Rashid releases debut single 'Terdiam'

ACTRESS Mawar Rashid is expanding her artistry with her debut single, 'Terdiam'.

Her first musical offering is a heartfelt exploration of introspection, emotional struggle and the search for inner peace.

The lyrics delve into loneliness, sadness and self-doubt, raising poignant questions about the uncertainty of life.

Mawar reflects on fleeting moments of happiness and strives to find meaning amid adversity.

She confronts her imperfections, acknowledging the exhaustion of trying to heal, yet expresses hope of smiling again despite the weariness.

At its core, 'Terdiam' is about resilience, the pursuit of peace and the journey to rediscover joy during life's most challenging times.

Mawar, 29, said she was satisfied with the song written and produced by Amir Hasan and Madebyartin.

"I've known Amir since college. I was confident he could bring my vision to life.

"After I explained what I was looking for, Amir and Madebyartin created something truly unique," said the Kota Baru-born artiste in a recent statement from Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia.

The music video was directed by actress Janna Nick.

Mawar, whose full name is Wan Mawar Shaputri Wan Abdul Rashid, said: "I chose Janna because I admire her talent and experience. We've known each other for a long time, and I knew she could capture the essence of what I wanted for this video."

But filming for the music video did not go smoothly. Mawar recounted an intense moment during filming.

"At the end of the shoot, I threw up from dizziness because we had to do multiple spinning sequences for the dance scenes.

"It was exhausting! One scene involved burning flowers. I had to move quickly. It was a moment I'll never forget."

'Terdiam' is available on all major digital music platforms.
