#SHOWBIZ: Warner Bros. Discovery to launch Max in Southeast Asia on Nov 19

KUALA LUMPUR: Max is expanding its reach, bringing popular movies, series, and real-life content to Southeast Asia and beyond.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced that its streaming service, Max, will launch in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong on Nov 19.

This marks the next step in Max's global expansion, bringing blockbuster movies, hit series, and family-friendly content to new audiences.

Max will offer content from renowned brands like HBO, the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, and Warner Bros., along with programming from Discovery, TLC, Food Network, and HGTV.

Subscribers can enjoy a user-friendly interface with personalised recommendations, genre-based browsing, and up to five customisable profiles.

Parental controls will also be available to tailor content for younger viewers.

As the exclusive home for HBO Originals, Max will feature new and returning series, including Dune: Prophecy, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, and the highly anticipated Harry Potter series.

In addition to exclusive shows, Max will stream hit movies like Dune: Part Two, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Barbie.

Max offers three subscription plans—Mobile, Standard, and Ultimate—with various features like HD and 4K streaming, multi-device access, and offline downloads.

Current HBO GO subscribers in the region will automatically transition to Max on Nov 19.
