KUALA LUMPUR: Warner Music Fest is returning for its 11th edition next month, bringing live music performances to universities across Malaysia.
At a press conference held yesterday, Warner Music Malaysia announced that the 2024 festival will feature a tour at eight universities nationwide, showcasing the country's top musical talents.
This year marks a milestone as the festival will visit Sabah and Sarawak for the first time.
Warner Music Fest, which began in 2012 and paused during the pandemic, resumed in 2022 and continues to offer a platform for local artists to engage with one of their most enthusiastic audiences – the youth.
The tour will kick off at Unimas in Kuching, Sarawak, and will then move to UTeM (Melaka), UUM (Kedah), USM (Penang), UiTM (Selangor), Upsi (Perak), UMS (Sabah), before concluding at UTHM in Johor. The tour runs from Nov 3 to Dec 10.
Warner Music's managing director for Malaysia and Singapore, Dinesh Ratnam, said: "This event is more than just about music, it's about community, creativity, and celebrating Malaysia's incredible talent."
He emphasised the positive reception the festival receives each year and added: "We aim to connect local music with the younger generation and nurture a vibrant music culture across the country."
This year's lineup for the event, sponsored by Perfume Paradise, includes popular names such as Syamel, Bunga Isme, Dinda Dania, Luqman Podolski, Rizal Rasid, Tuju, Wani Kayrie, Zynakal, and Amsyar Leee.
