Following the success of his debut solo album, singer Amir Masdi is back with a second album, AM:PM.
The album, featuring 12 tracks, was produced in collaboration with famous composer Edry Abdul Halim, marking another milestone in Amir's career.
Recorded in March at Volta Lab Studios in Rochdale, Manchester in the United Kingdom, AM:PM highlights Amir's growth as a singer and songwriter.
Teaming up with Edry, Amir co-wrote all of the dozen songs, demonstrating his evolving artistry.
"Earlier this year, we pooled funds from previous performances to move forward with this project.
"In February, my team and I flew to Manchester to bring this dream to life," Amir told 'Berita Harian'.
"We spent 18 days writing and recording the entire album, including shooting a music video.
"The experience was incredibly inspiring and has motivated me to continue striving to give my best."
The 28-year-old artiste, whose full name is Amir Syazwan Masdi, expressed how personal this album is to him.
He played a key role in crafting the songs from concept to completion, working closely with the UK-based Edry of KRU fame, who also served as the album's producer.
On the album's name, Amir explained that AM:PM cleverly represents both his initials (AM for Amir Masdi) and PM for Project Manchester.
"Initially, we called it Manchester Project, but as we worked on it, the name evolved into AM:PM, symbolising the collaboration between us — while Edry was in Manchester, we were in Malaysia, navigating time zone differences for meetings."
AM:PM, produced by Amir's own recording company AR United Music and distributed by Nova Music, will be released in two parts.
AM, which features six tracks ('Luar Kotak', 'Calar', 'Take Me Home', 'Langit Biru', 'Bakal Kekasih', and 'Nur Cinta'), was recently released this month.
The second half, PM, is slated for release next year.
