KUALA LUMPUR: The main actor of Mencari Ramlee, Tony Eusoff is excited to note that the film will be screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival (IFFR) in February 2025.
Tony, 46, said that although he has not seen the final cut of the film directed by Megat Sharizal Mohamed Yusoff, the quality of the production is "very good".
"I've only seen the rough cut and I'm satisfied because the production quality is amazing.
"Even with a low budget, director Megat Sharizal was able to produce a quality product," he told Harian Metro.
Tony hopes that the film will find a place in the hearts of local audiences.
"I hope that Mencari Ramlee will pave the way for more period films.
"What is sold domestically, cannot necessarily be sold abroad. That's the trend I've seen throughout my 20 years in the industry," he said.
Mencari Ramlee revolves around the final years of the King of Malaysian Entertainment Tan Sri P. Ramlee in the 1970s and stars Tony, Datin Sofea Jane and Mimi Lana.
