KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Ayie Elham recently shared a touching moment about his younger sibling with Down Syndrome during a podcast.
Appearing on Bocey Comeback, hosted by comedians Achey and Fad, the Floor 88 vocalist opened up about his family, especially his twin siblings — one of whom has a disability.
Reflecting on his father's reaction to the birth, Ayie, whose real name is Nik Fadlee Elhamshah, revealed that doctors initially informed his father that one of the twins might not survive due to the condition.
"My father was angry and couldn't accept the reality at first," the 27-year-old singer recounted, visibly moved.
Ayie also expressed sadness over the lack of acceptance some people show toward individuals with disabilities.
"It's heartbreaking to see that some people still struggle to accept those born with differences," he said.
In a heartfelt promise, Ayie added that he plans to take responsibility for his sibling's care when his parents are no longer able to do so, showing his deep commitment to his family.
