KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Zahiril Adzim recently opened up about his acrophobia, a severe fear of heights, and how it affects him, especially while driving on elevated highways.
In a TikTok post, the 40-year-old shared that his condition can trigger intense anxiety.
"When I'm driving along the elevated Duke (Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway) or Suke (Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway), I start trembling and breathing rapidly," Zahiril said.
Although he can manage when driving alone, he finds it especially challenging when his family is in the car.
"I'm really concerned about their safety because if things escalate, I might even faint while driving," he admitted, explaining the added stress of protecting his loved ones in such situations.
For Zahiril, his acrophobia is not just a simple fear of heights but a condition that impacts his daily life, especially during these unavoidable drives on elevated roads.
