#SHOWBIZ: Mark Zuckerberg records 'romantic' cover of explicit rap hit for wife

KUALA LUMPUR: Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has surprised fans by recording a cover of the explicit 2003 rap hit Get Low, teaming up with US artiste T-Pain, in honour of his "dating anniversary" with wife Priscilla Chan.

Zuckerberg's rendition, featuring Auto-Tune and acoustic guitar, pays homage to the Lil Jon and East Side Boyz track that was playing when he first met Chan at a college party, the BBC reported.

Sharing the tribute on Instagram, the Meta CEO called Get Low a "lyrical masterpiece" and jokingly adopted the stage name "Z-Pain" for the release.

Chan described the gesture as "so romantic," noting, "Can't get quite as low anymore but more in love and grateful for that love than ever."

Zuckerberg's post included studio shots of him and T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Rashad Najm, collaborating on the cover, with T-Pain adding ad-libs and backing vocals.

The billionaire's tribute follows Lil Jon's own recent Get Low performance at the Democratic National Convention, celebrating Kamala Harris's presidential nomination.

Known for his elaborate expressions of affection, Zuckerberg previously commissioned a statue of Chan in August, modeled in oxidized copper by artist Daniel Arsham, noting he was "bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife."
