KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrities Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia De Rossi, have reportedly left the US and relocated to the UK after Donald Trump's presidential election win.
According to The Wrap, the couple recently settled in the Cotswolds, a picturesque rural area in south-central England, approximately two hours from London.
Sources claim they are planning to sell their Montecito, California, estate and have no intentions of returning to the US.
Insiders told TMZ that the pair purchased their UK home before the Nov 6 election but felt "disillusioned" after Trump's victory, prompting their immediate move abroad.
DeGeneres, 66, has been a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris and previously expressed excitement over her potential presidency.
Before the election, the former talk show host urged her followers to vote, sharing a post captioned, "Let's vote like our lives depend on it. Because they do!"
The couple's decision comes as other celebrities also seek new beginnings abroad.
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria recently revealed her family moved to Mexico and Spain.
Longoria described the US as a "dystopian" environment, citing issues like homelessness and rising taxes.
She added that Trump's election solidified her decision.
"The shocking part isn't that he won — it's that someone with such hate and criminal charges can hold the highest office. It's a scary time."
