KUALA LUMPUR: Cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Vida has addressed the recent seizure of her assets, including four luxury vehicles, over an unpaid debt exceeding RM1 million.
The 53-year-old celebrity, whose real name is Hasmiza Othman, admitted the incident was damaging to her reputation but chose to see it as a test of faith.
Speaking during a TikTok live session last night, Vida shared her perspective on the controversy.
"Every test has wisdom behind it. God wants to elevate us, but it doesn't come for free," she said, adding that the seizure occurred while she was abroad.
The Ku Ikhlaskan singer also questioned the actions of those involved, claiming they sought to embarrass her.
"You can demand payment, but why call journalists to my house and make it viral? That's unfair," she remarked.
Vida denied prior knowledge of the incident and refrained from elaborating, saying, "I don't want to seem like I know more than others. By God, I truly didn't know."
Earlier, reports revealed that Vida's household items and vehicles in Ipoh were confiscated following her failure to settle renovation arrears for a Shah Alam factory-turned-studio.
The debt, amounting to RM1,060,285, has reportedly been outstanding since 2018.
