#SHOWBIZ: Talking about 'Abe Jahat'

A household name among fans of Kelantanese dialect songs, Rosalinda Dikir Barat is known for her hits like 'Ambo Bini Ore Remix', 'Oh Abe Ku I Love You', 'Jate Boya 2' and 'Comel Rupo'.

Now, the 33-year-old artiste is back with a fresh single, 'Abe Jahat', created by seasoned composer Eddie Hamid.

The groovy track features lyrics by Eddy Pring, Mama Ana, Jaju and Teha, with Eddie handling the music arrangement.

Rosalinda, whose real name is Shahima Edayu Akma Mohd Alwi, revealed that Eddie approached her in late September with the song.

She readily agreed, eager to work with the famous composer.

"When Abang Eddie offered me this song, I couldn't say no. The rhythm is fresh and unique, and the melody is captivating.

"Recording 'Abe Jahat' only took about two weeks," Rosalinda said.

Despite its provocative title, 'Abe Jahat' isn't directed at anyone in particular.

"This song doesn't relate to me or anyone specific. It's a creative portrayal of real-life scenarios.

"I hope listeners enjoy it and take it in good spirits. There's no intention to offend men — it's just entertainment," said Rosalinda, who is married to Shahrul Nizam Nasir.

The music video, filmed in a day, brings the song's narrative to life with performances by Ejoy Nadia and Adik Wawa.

Rosalinda, who hails from Kemaman, Terengganu, expressed gratitude for their involvement, adding that the shoot went smoothly.

While Rosalinda has a strong love for dangdut music, she dreams of expanding her repertoire.

"Every singer dreams of branching out. I'd love to record in standard Malay and explore duet opportunities with compatible artistes," said Rosalinda, who often performs in Southern Thailand, Pahang, Johor, Kedah and Kuala Lumpur.

Produced by Kijang Music, Abe Jahat is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Fans can also watch the music video on Kijang Music's YouTube channel.
