#SHOWBIZ: Futureland Festival rocks music fans at iconic venue

KUALA LUMPUR: The inaugural Futureland Festival highlighted local music and creativity, and connected about 20,000 music fans through electrifying performances and immersive experiences at the historic Stadium Merdeka recently.

Known for hosting iconic events including Malaysia's declaration of independence, the newly restored Stadium Merdeka provided a fitting backdrop for the festival.

The vibrant venue showcased a stellar lineup of established and emerging artistes, reaffirming its place as a cornerstone of the country's music scene.

Organised by Warner Music Malaysia in partnership with Watsons Malaysia, the event featured exciting performances from a diverse range of artistes that included Hujan, Masdo, Aina Abdul, Bunkface, Ayda Jebat, Hael Husaini, and Zynakal, among others.

Aina Abdul's festival debut captivated the crowd, while Hujan's electrifying finale left attendees in awe.

Warner Music Malaysia and Singapore managing director Dinesh Ratnam expressed his gratitude for the festival's overwhelming success.

"Launching the first-ever Futureland Festival at this iconic venue alongside Watsons Malaysia has been monumental.

"This event brought people together and gave emerging talent the opportunity to share the stage with Malaysia's finest," he said in a statement today.

Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh, added: "Futureland is our way of thanking our customers as we mark 30 years in Malaysia."

Beyond the music, festivalgoers also enjoyed the Watsons Glow Up Zone, food villages, pop-up stores, and interactive activities.

Dinesh added that Futureland's success has paved the way for it to become an annual event.
