KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong-based Canadian celebrity Bonnie Chan is celebrating a heartwarming milestone as she enters motherhood.
The 34-year-old former actress and television host revealed on Instagram that she gave birth to twin boys, affectionately nicknamed Ocean and Sun, in September.
The announcement, made on Christmas Day, was accompanied by heartfelt reflections and family photos.
Chan's journey to this joyous chapter began in 2021 when she married Kuok Meng Jun, a deejay and the grandson of Malaysia's richest man, Robert Kuok.
After her marriage, Chan maintained a low profile, having left the entertainment industry in 2020 to focus on yoga and wellness.
Prior to that, she gained recognition as the third runner-up in the 2016 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant and appeared in TV dramas such as Heart And Greed 3 and I Bet Your Pardon.
Reflecting on her pregnancy, Chan described it as "one of the toughest yet most rewarding journeys of my life."
In her Instagram post, she candidly shared the challenges she faced, including severe nausea and heightened sensitivity to smells during the early months.
"I practically lived on crackers, cold toast, and fruit, confined to my bedroom. Even water felt like a challenge some days," she wrote.
Despite the struggles, the second trimester brought a brief reprieve, allowing Chan to focus on her babies' health.
She indulged in nutritious meals and maintained healthy habits.
However, by the third trimester, physical discomfort became a daily reality, with swollen feet, back pain, and difficulty moving.
Chan also shared her efforts to avoid stretch marks by researching prevention methods and creating her own remedies.
She expressed gratitude for her healthy sons, describing their birth as "pure magic."
"Today, at just a few months old, Ocean and Sun are cooing, smiling at our voices, and always reaching for us.
"My phone storage is filled with their photos, yet I still can't capture how quickly they're growing. They've already outgrown their newborn clothes, and my heart aches at how fast time is flying," she wrote.
As Chan embraces her new role as a mother, she treasures every moment of this adventure.
"Being a boy mom is an adventure I treasure every day, and I can't wait to see what the future holds," she shared, wishing her followers a Merry Christmas from her growing family.
