#SHOWBIZ: PhD for Julia first before having kids

ACTRESS Julia Farhana Marin has expressed her desire to complete her studies in psychology up to the PhD level before starting a family.

Julia, who is  pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Open University Malaysia, shared that she plans to continue with a Master's and eventually a PhD.

She is grateful for her husband, Dr Che Hafiz, who fully supports her ambitions.

"I'm still pursuing my Bachelor's degree and planning to continue with my Master's and PhD.

"So, having children isn't part of our immediate plans.

"But don't misunderstand, this doesn't mean we subscribe to the 'childfree' concept.

"I am excited to become a mother someday, just not right now," she told 'Harian Metro'.

Julia emphasised that balancing studies and motherhood could be challenging.

"Studying requires focus and comes with its pressures. If I pause, it might be difficult to pick up again.

"So, I want to complete my studies first," she said.

The 31-year-old actress actress also shared that her family and in-laws are supportive of her choices. ]

"Alhamdulillah, they don't pressure us about having children. Parenthood is a blessing from Allah.

"If it happens while I'm studying, we'll embrace it."

Julia revealed that for 2025, both she and her husband are prioritising their careers.

"My husband is on the verge of becoming a specialist doctor, and I couldn't be prouder."

In addition to her studies, Julia is managing drama productions through her own company, balancing her artistic career and educational pursuits seamlessly.
