AS a wrap up to its #SmileStrongBersama campaign, Colgate-Palmolive Malaysia put optimism into action and distributed 10,000 oral care packages to various segments of society, including frontliners and Covid-19 patients, as well as less privileged communities.
Colgate's #SmileStrongBersama campaign and Donate A Smile Instagram filter were launched in December last year with the goal to inspire Malaysians to embrace their inner optimist and create a better future that we can all smile about.
Malaysians were encouraged to "donate" their smiles, which were then converted into care packages to be donated.
The #SmileStrongBersama campaign has helped Colgate achieve its goals of spreading optimism as well as helping the less privileged with their basic oral care needs, says Colgate-Palmolive South Asean Hub associate director of oral care marketing, See Mei Sin.
The campaign saw strong support from Malaysian optimism champions including Malaysian rapper Bunga, Jazz Tan, founder and chief executive officer of YouthsToday; Juliana Adam, chief executive officer of the Biji-Biji Initiative; and Heidy Quah, founder and executive director of Refuge For the Refugees.
"Without a doubt, food, medicine and monetary aid are essential. However, people often forget that oral care is also an important basic necessity. Good oral care will improve one's quality of life, boost self-esteem as well as encourage greater social participation and better job opportunities," says See.
The oral care packages were donated to the Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS); PSPK Women Development Centre; Pertubuhan Ikram Malaysia Muar; Kuala Lumpur Society; Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Da Ai Malaysia and Refuge for the Refugees.
