MALAYSIA gets a much-needed boost in its efforts to flatten the curve of the pandemic, with the Gmate Covid Saliva Home Test Kit from Korea.
The test kit recently passed the evaluation from the Institute of Medical Research (IMR) with 91 per cent sensitivity and 100 per cent specificity.
IMR has also conducted a survey on the product's ease of use and 99 per cent of respondents say it is easy to use, the instructions easy to understand, and the interpretation of the test results very straightforward.
"The saliva home kit will be good for self-testing for those who are worried that they might have Covid-19 and as a precaution to protect their loved ones," says CityMedic director, Matthew Ong.
Gmate Covid Saliva Home Test Kit is manufactured by Philosys Ltd and it has appointed CityMedic as its exclusive distributor for the Malaysian and Singaporean market.
The test kit is expected to be available at all pharmacies nationwide starting July 19.
