GLENEAGLES Hospital Johor hosted the third edition of the All-Women Healthcare Symposium recently, which saw healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers from across the region coming together to focus on the evolving landscape of women's health and its profound impact on families and communities.
Under the theme "Leading the Way in Women and Family Health," the symposium served as a platform for knowledge sharing and skill-building. The discussions centred on addressing the unique health challenges women face and reinforcing their pivotal role in society.
Gleneagles Hospital Johor CEO and regional CEO of Southern and Eastern IHH Malaysia, Dr Kamal Amzan, pointed out in his opening address that women are not just caregivers, but silent architects of resilience for families and communities.
"By protecting their wellbeing, we invest in a future where compassion and strength walk hand-in-hand, uplifting the very fabric of our society."
The All-Women Healthcare symposium offered three tracks, each featuring a diverse range of lectures from professional speakers.
Key activities included workshops and skill-building sessions where healthcare professionals from the hospital engaged in hands-on workshops, including ultrasound-guided procedures, gynaecological scanning, and managing reproductive health issues like fibroids and polycystic ovarian syndrome. There were also sessions which addressed topics such as maternal health, mental health, oncology and chronic medical conditions in women.
