#JOM! GO: Exploring the world of Tim Burton

THE spellbinding world tour exhibition of The World of Tim Burton is making its debut in Southeast Asia and will be calling Pavilion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur its home from March 21 to July 30.

Co-organised by Toybox Projects Sdn Bhd, Eurasian Entertainment Consultants Ltd and and KOL Nation Sdn Bhd, the four-month exhibition will focus on the distinctive characters and worlds that could only come from Burton's singular imagination.

It will feature about 540 works, including signature pieces from the creative filmmaker's retrospective as well as over 150 new works not seen in Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA) exhibition tour, where it made its debut.

With over 800,000 visitors, the premiere of Burton's art exhibition in New York was the third highest attended exhibition in MoMA's history.

This sparked the inception of The World of Tim Burton, a re-conceptualised exhibition that mirrors MoMA's success, designed specifically for touring the world.

The tour stops have included institutions like the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul; City Gallery Prague: The Stone Bell in Czech Republic; the Mori Arts Centre Gallery in Tokyo; the Max Ernst Museum in Bruhl, Germany; the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo, Brazil; ArtisTree Gallery in Hong Kong; and Museo Franz Mayer in Mexico City.

The exhibition lets new audiences experience Burton's art in person for the first time and treats familiar visitors to an in-depth look into his sensibility.

The exhibition features numerous works from Burton's early ages to the most recent project across mediums of sketches, paintings, drawings, photographs, maquettes and puppets he used for his film works, and life-sized sculptures.

Along with the artist's signature figure of Balloon Boy at the entrance of the exhibition are numerous, remarkable sculptures that were newly designed specifically for the exhibition.

The World of Tim Burton

has categorised Burton's extensive career of five decades into 10 thematic sections. Each section is composed of paintings, drawings, photographs and videos, media arts, etc.

In this exhibition, a special opportunity to sneak peek into the current projects in progress will be provided to the audience through the exact replica of Burton's personal studio where he actually works.

The World of Tim Burton Exhibition tickets will be available at the ticketing agents' websites KOL Nation and Ticketcharge, from Jan 11 and at the exhibition venue from March 21.

There will be bundle packages for family and groups, VIP package with extra benefits, and season pass which is the multiple entry for fans to enjoy the Burton's original works through out the exhibition period. Tickets are priced from RM28.
