IN conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival, the Kuala Lumpur Photography Association (Asfon WP) is organising a three-day photography exhibition.
The exhibition, titled "100 Kaler Life in Colours," is a collection of creative media art, particularly photography.
According to Asfon WP president Shamsul Kamal Zakaria, the exhibition represents the creativity of selected professional photographers in Malaysia.
"The exhibition is aimed at attracting those who are passionate about photography and would like to learn more about it," he said.
"Visitors will also be able to view the photography works of Asfon WP members, which cover genres such as landscape, street photography, nature, architectural, portrait, travel, and lifestyle," he added.
A total of 100 photos are on display at the exhibition.
Meanwhile, project director Saliza Salleh said the "100 Kaler Life in Colours" exhibition is an anthology that documents the diversity and beauty in the world of photography.
"The exhibition serves as a platform to showcase the lineage of creative media photography art," she said, adding that the effort to gather all 100 photos began in May until July this year.
"Through this exhibition, we hope to instill an interest in photography among Malaysians as one of the healthy and beneficial activities they can explore," she said.
Additionally, Saliza said that "100 Kaler Life in Colours" has also been compiled into a book.
"This book serves as a source of inspiration for photography enthusiasts. It also functions as a reference and guide for those who wish to improve their photography skills," she said.
"The book not only highlights the beauty of the universe but also documents various aspects of culture and daily life. Indirectly, it helps preserve cultural heritage and provides a visual perspective on life in Malaysia," she added.
"100 Kaler Life in Colours" is now being showcased at the Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival 2024, daily from Aug 9 to 11 at KL Gateway Mall.
