KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's queen of pop-jazz, Datuk Sheila Majid, announced today that she will hold a solo concert at Stadium Negara on Aug 5.
The 52-year-old Sinaran hitmaker announced the exciting news at the launch of her new album, Boneka, at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur.
The last time Sheila performed at Stadium Negara was in 1991 for her Legenda concert.
In 2010, she had her solo concert at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), KLCC.
Organised by IME Malaysia, the much-anticipated concert will be produced by More Entertainment, with the support of Magada Entertainment.
Sheila will be performing her greatest hits, as well as tracks from her latest album.
"Alhamdulillah for this. I'm sure (the organisers) read in the newspapers (and elsewhere) about me trying to look for sponsors, and finally, they have come forward, wanting to do this not only for me, but also for my fans.
"And hey, this is not just some glamourised dinner show that we're going to do at a small venue – this is 'the' Stadium Negara.
"I started off (with my first solo) concert there, and to have it at the same venue again is just like a dream come true for me," said the mother of four.
