Modenas upgrades Elegan 250 to meet Euro 4 standard

MOTOSIKAL dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Bhd, has upgraded the Elegan 250 ABS to meet the Euro 4 exhaust emission regulations.

The new Elegan 250 EX comes with an Euro 4-compliant, fuel-injected, four-stroke, single-cylinder SOHC 250cc engine.

It produces a maximum power of 16.5 kW at 7,000rpm and 22.4Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

The anti-emission measures ensure that fewer toxins in the exhaust gas are released when the engine is running, in addition to being more fuel efficient.

New to the 2023 model is a projector headlamp with LED daytime running lights.

The weight is maintained at 195kg.

The maxi-style scooter's low centre of gravity, slim proportions and agile handling is also said to make it agile enough to pass through heavy traffic.

Other features that make a return include the signature X shaped tail lamp, multi-functional digital speedometer, trip-meter, digital clock, battery voltage indicator and the oil service reminder.

The dual-channel anti-lock braking system prevents the wheels from locking up and provides improved stopping power in all weather conditions.

It is available in two new colour options: Matte Silver Crystal and Petroleum Blue.

With a recommended selling price of RM16,997 the model comes with two-year or 20,000km, whichever comes first, manufacturer warranty.
