KUALA LUMPUR: It is the end of the road for the Exora multi-purpose vehicle as Proton has seemingly discontinued the model after 14 years of service.
Based on videos and images circling around social media, it appears the last of the model to roll off the assembly line was marked with the date 18/10/2023.
Proton has yet to release any official statement on the matter when reached out to, although they are aware of the news which has been picked up and carried by the media. The Exora was Proton's most popular and best selling MPV to date with 196,583 units sold.
It was critically acclaimed for its price coupled with its complete MPV experience offering.
At its most affordable was priced at RM56,888 for the Standard MT from 2015, the 2011 offering saw the MPV topping out at RM88,998 for the six-seater Exora Prime.
The latest 2023 Exora, which was launched last year, came in two variants: 1.6T Executive CVT priced at RM62,800 and 1.6T Premium CVT at RM69,800 - both on-the-road prices without insurance.
Both houses a returning 1.6 litre turbocharged engine paired with a CVT transmission powertrain that delivers 140PS of power and 205Nm of torque.
Many of the last updates were cosmetic on the exterior which was updated with the then-new Proton logo on the front grille and tailgate, LED daytime running lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels in dual tone finishing, side skirtings, rear spoiler, and a black roof with black rear garnish.
Cabin comes with a seven-inch touchscreen monitor with "Hi Proton" Voice Command infotainment system that also features a online navigation, music streaming, weather forecast, 4G and Wi-Fi connect.
The system also features smartphone connectivity to mirror link with Android devices. Two USB ports are available to charge your electronic devices.
Seats are in full leather as with the multi-function steering wheel and armrests for the front seats.
Each row of seats is equipped with individual air-conditioning vents with the N95 cabin filter.
Safety features include two front SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), a reverse camera, and rear parking sensors.
Five exterior colours were up for choice: Snow White, Indiana Grey, Rosewood Maroon, Ruby Red, and Cocoa Grey.
