Porsche party at world roadshow ini Sepang

SEPANG International Circuit became a dream zone for Porsche fans recently as it played host to the Porsche World Roadshow (PWRS).

Hosted by Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the PWRS featured a total of 23 cars from the German carmaker.

The models included the 911 Targa 4 GTS, 911 Turbo S, 911 GT3 RS, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, Spyder RS, Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, Macan GTS, new Panamera, new Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo.

The PWRS driving experience was led by certified international Porsche instructors, which included guided driving on the racetrack involving acceleration, braking, slalom and off-road driving.

"We are thrilled to host PWRS in Malaysia as it offers a truly extraordinary driving experience for Porsche dreamers, fully immersing in sports car fascination.

"It offers an exclusive opportunity to experience the full potential of these high-performance machines, providing a real taste of adrenaline and the incomparable Porsche DNA," said SDAP chief executive officer Christopher Hunter.

Premiering exclusively at PWRS in Malaysia was the new all-electric Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo.

Porsche has given the new Taycan a number of extensive updates, including more power and range, quicker acceleration, faster charging and greater stability.

The Taycan and Taycan Turbo S sprint from zero to 100kph in just 4.8 and 2.4 seconds, respectively, making them 0.6 seconds and 0.4 seconds faster than their predecessors.

The range has increased to around 678km (WLTP) depending on the body variant and engine.

The new Taycan not only requires fewer charging stops on long trips than its predecessor but also recharges faster.

The Taycan variants also come with the latest-generation Porsche Driver Experience that features improved display and control concept.

They are available for bookings at Porsche Centres nationwide, with prices starting from RM575,000.

Meanwhile, another surprise for visitors at PWRS was the sneak preview of the all-electric Macan 4 and Macan Turbo.

The second-generation of Porsche's compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) comes in all-electric form and features striking Porsche design DNA, characteristic Porsche performance, long range and high everyday practicality.
