Mercedes-Benz Malaysia hands over four EQs to Tengku Zafrul

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently presented four of its all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQ vehicles to Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz on behalf of the ministry.

This provides the ministry and its agencies an opportunity to experience the luxury and electric technology of Mercedes-Benz, as a conduit to achieve its "Push for Net Zero" mission under New Industrial Master Plan 2030.

"This marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between the automotive industry and policymakers, ensuring that Malaysia remains at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution," Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia chief executive officer and president Amanda Zhang said the German marque is consistently pursuing a sustainable and integrated business strategy, with sustainability as its guiding principle.

"We will create the preconditions for a CO2-neutral new car fleet by 2039, while the pace of transformation is determined by market conditions and the needs of our customers.

"Staying true to our strategy and commitment, Mercedes-Benz has launched the largest BEV portfolio of nine models across all our existing vehicle segments including 2 all-electric Mercedes-AMG models."

This aligns with the government's aspiration to achieve net-zero carbon emission by 2050, as outlined in the 12th Malaysia Plan, she addec.

The four EQs were the locally-produced Mercedes-Benz EQS 500 4Matic, EQS 580 4Matic SUV, Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ and Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic SUV.

All models feature the most advanced technology for unmatched connectivity and user experience.
