KUALA LUMPUR: BFGoodrich recently hosted an exclusive hands-on preview of a new tyre model at Sirromet, a working vineyard and events venue that offers a mix of challenging trails and scenic views, in Brisbane, Australia.
The tyre model, BFGoodrich all-terrain T/A KO3, is the long-awaited, much improved successor to the all-terrain T/A KO2.
The event from July 7-17, allowed more than 200 dealers, media representatives and industry influencers from eight countries across the East Asia and Australia region to be among the first in the region to experience firsthand the exceptional 3T (Toughness, Traction, and Treadwear) performance of the T/A KO3 before its official launch in September.
The countries are Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam –
The T/A KO3 is introduced nearly a decade after its predecessor, incorporating the latest tire technologies to improve upon its predecessor's legendary performance in three key areas:
* Toughness with CoreGard Technology and advanced deflection design for enhanced sidewall toughness.
* Traction with the updated serrated shoulder design and mud-phobic bars for better mud traction.
* Treadwear with a new tread compound for greater durability and longevity, even on gravel roads, plus optimised interlocking tread elements for even wear over the long haul, thus earning its tagline "Legendary Toughness. Made Tougher".
The event featured an exhibition zone and three workshop stations.
The exhibition zone highlighted the long history and legacy of the BFGoodrich brand that has been passed on for over 150 years, and showcases, apart from the flagship T/A KO3, BFGoodrich's off-road products, including the HD Terrain (the ultimate tire for the toughest jobs, mud-terrain T/A KM3 (a tire for the serious off-road enthusiast when conditions require extreme traction and toughness) and trail-terrain T/A (an all-season tire engineered for both on-road performance and light off-road situations).
Participants also got to experience both on-road and off-road driving with the T/A KO3 through three driving workshops.
In all three driving workshops, the T/A KO3 - specifically engineered and designed for CUVs, SUVs, and pickups – is fitted to high-performance vehicles such as Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ford Everest, Ford Ranger Raptor and Mazda BT50.
