The meeting forged closer ties between state and federal govt: Najib

JOHOR BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said his audience with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar today forged closer ties between the Federal and state governments.

In a Facebook posting, Najib said he spent an hour with the ruler and Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Serene, here.

"I had an audience with the Sultan of Johor at Istana Bukit Serene.

"Also present was the Tunku Mahkota Johor. The one hour meeting will forge closer ties between the state government and Federal government," Najib said in Facebook posting which included a photograph of him with Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Ismail.

The meeting between the ruler and Najib started at about 11.30am. It was a private programme during Najib's visit to Johor today.

Later the two had lunch at Danga Bay.

Najib is slated to be in Muar this evening to launch the new Muar Umno Divsion building at Jalan Meriam.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Muar Umno Division Chief Datuk Razali Ibrahim are expected to join Najib at the event in Muar.
