JOHOR BARU: The period of an economic downturn presents an opportunity for investors to invest as the costs and prices of investments would be lower.
The Performance and Management Delivery Unit (Pemandu) chief executive officer Datuk Seri Idris Jala said the best time to invest in when the economy is in the down cycle, as the stock prices would be very low and the opportunities would be abound.
"Every economy goes through a cycle of up and down and most investors are very afraid to invest during an economic downturn.
"However, brave investors who understand long term investment opportunities knows that this is the best time to invest and they would take this opportunity to invest," said Idris.
He was speaking to the media after delivering a keynote address at the Invest Iskandar Malaysia 2015 conference organised by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA).
