KUALA LUMPUR: Taarana School, which provides education for special needs children, organised a concert themed Rainbow Connection at the National Museum Auditorium, here, recently.
Fifty-three children, aged four to 12 danced, sang and acted for the audience of 300.
Vijayaratnam Foundation chairperson Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran described Taarana as a “labour of love, fuelled by a passion to serve”.
“It is a school which helps special needs children to realise their potentials. We hope to provide them with the skills needed to live independent lives.
“These children have a special way to express their feelings and show their hidden talents.
“They are brilliant and deserve love and respect. We should never give up on them.”
QI Group of Companies executive chairman Datuk Sri Vijay Eswaran said: “The wonderful teachers of Taarana have been the key to the institution’s growth. These kids are precious and they can contribute to the society.”
Vijayaratnam Foundation, which runs the Taarana school, is QI Group’s corporate social responsibility arm in Malaysia.
Located in Taman Overseas Union Garden, Taarana provides educational programmes for children with attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, sensory integration disorder, speech impairment, autism, impulsive behaviour and other conditions. By Farhana Syed Nokman
