ONYX Group of companies is banking on mobile e-commerce platform GOGOLnet to help achieve its RM25 million sales target next year.

According to chief executive officer Alan Yeoh the group has so far recorded sales of about RM15 million this year.

He said GOGOLnet, to be launched by middle of this month, is a mobile app conceptualised on e-commerce selling and sharing platform.

Yeoh said the concept is based upon person-to-person business and product-sharing.

“The consumer can make easy purchase through online e-commerce facility and by just sharing it with others, the consumer can earn reward from the GOGOLnet,” he said in an interview recently.

GOGOLnet offers health products, supplements, electrical and electronics products. Currently, it only features Onyx’s own brands, such as OnyxTech, Onyxlite, Onyx’s liquid chlorophyll and bird’s nest.

Established in 2000, Onyx specialises in the design, manufacturing and marketing of a range of products, supplying to various industries, such as automotive, audio, video, computer and energy-saving lights.

Yeoh said Onyx’s vision is to be the best industry manufacturer, producing high quality and cost-efficient products to meet the needs of its customers. Its clients include carmakers like Proton Holdings Bhd, Toyota Motor Corp, Naza Group of Companies, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sendirian Bhd and Peugeot, among others.

The company believes in research and development (R&D) investment, which will help it establish a strong foothold in the industry through the development of innovative products.

Yeoh said the company allocates about five per cent of its revenue for R&D investment on a yearly basis.

“We will continue to focus on R&D to improve our products as we are committed to providing quality products to our consumers,” he said.

Looking ahead, the group is poised to tap growth potential in other countries to reduce its dependency on the domestic market as they consolidate and mature.

“Our plan is to expand our business abroad, especially in the Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesia and Thailand,” Yeoh said.

Onyx, backed by its technology, efficiency and talent is optimistic of growth opportunities in the domestic and overseas markets.

He added that the group will continue to strengthen its presence in the domestic market by expanding its franchising opportunities through GOGOLnet.
