Siti is Best Female Vocal, again

KUALA LUMPUR: Pop darling Datuk Siti Nurhaliza made history when she won her 12th Best Female Vocal Performance In A Song award at last night’s Anugerah Industri Muzik 2014 (AIM24).

She picked up the award for her song Lebih Indah from her album, Fragmen.

Siti had won the Best Female Vocal Performance award every year between 1999 and 2010, except for 2007, when it went to Jaclyn Victor.

This year, Siti also won the Best Album award for Fragmen and Best Album Recording for Konsert Lentera Timur Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Bersama Orkestra Tradisional Malaysia.

Hip-hop artiste SonaOne bagged the Best Song award for his track No More.

The Best Group Vocal Performance In A Song award went to Azhael for Hujung Waktu.

The Best Male Vocal Performance In A Song award was won by Akim Ahmad for his song Mewangi, while Best Vocal Performance In A Duo Or Collaboration went to Nora for Selamanya Bahagia (featuring Mosyi, Alif and Putri).

Crooner Alyah walked away with the Best Pop Song award for her ballad Sesal Separuh Nyawa, the band Bunkface took home the Best Rock Song award for Rentak Laguku (featuring Amy Search), and Joe Flizzow and SonaOne received the Best Hip-Hop Album award for their song Apa Khabar.

Singer-songwriter, composer and music producer Poova was crowned Best New Artiste.

Singaporean rocker Datuk Ramli Sarip was awarded the Wirama Award for his extensive contributions to the local music scene.

The country’s equivalent to the American Grammy awards, AIM recognises and honours Malaysian-based talents, including artistes, composers, lyricists, producers and designers.
