KUALA LUMPUR: Companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and political parties have provided an avenue for the public to donate essential items and cash to flood victims in the east coast and Perak.
Among them were Skuad Sayang of Wanita Umno and the women wings of Barisan Nasional component parties which joined forces to initiate Misi Sayang, a drive that to collect essential items such as non-perishable food items, clothes, blankets and diapers for the flood victims.
The public can drop off the items at Umno headquarters in Menara Dato Onn from 9am to 6pm.

Crisis Relief Squad of MCA had also established a fund for the East Coast flood victims and those who wish to donate may contact them at 03-2203 3979 or email xilas@.mca.org.my.
Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (Abim) has also joined hands with several other NGOs such as Malaysia Youth Council to establish their own flood squad.
Called Skuad Prihatin, they have volunteers to collect donations in cash and kinds.
Cash donation can be made to ABIM's Maybank account, 5642-2161-0116, while essential items can be delivered to either Abim's Secretariat Centre, at No 6, Jalan TC 2A/2, Taman Cemerlang, Kuala Lumpur or Adab Youth Garage (AYG), No 15, Jalan 1/4A, Seksyen 1, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor.

Mercy Malaysia meanwhile provides cash assistance. Donations to Mercy relief fund can be made via Maybank (under the account name Mercy Humanitarian Fund, account number 5621-7950-4126), CIMB BANK (under the account Mercy Malaysia, account number 8000-7929-08) or RHB Bank (under the account Malaysian Medical Relief Society, account number 212273-0000-9257).
Media Prima Berhad’s Tabung Bencana NSTP-Media Prima has also been reactivated.
