KUCHING: Sarawak government has contributed RM2 million to Kumpulan Wang Amanah Bantuan Bencana Negara to assist the flood victims in the affected states.
Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem hoped the donation can be used to ease the financial burden of victims during this difficult time.
"We hope this contribution could cushion the burden of flood victims in facing this trying times.
"The people of Sarawak sympathise with the fate of the flood victims and will be with them," he told reporters here today.
Apart from that, the state government also urged internet users not to spread rumours and false information over the on-going floods as it can worsen the situation.
