MH370: Interim report on Mar 7

KUALA LUMPUR: ‎ The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) will release an interim report on the missing Malaysia Airlines MH370 on March 7 focusing on the investigation, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Aziz Kaprawi said.

Aziz said that the announcement of the report will be made by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and the full report will be made available on the DCA’s website‎.

"‎I cannot reveal the details of the interim report but it will be on the investigation that has been carried out so far in search of the missing plane.

"We have not concluded on the status of the plane, as the search is still on-going." Aziz said to reporters after opening the ‎Southeast Asia Regional Aviation Security Workshop: Strengthening Passenger and Baggage Screening Procedures, here.

He added that workshop was held to discuss on enhancing security of the aviation industry in the region.

There were 46 participants from 10 Asean countries and Australia.

The work shop is organised by the Ministry of Transportation, DCA with the ‎United States International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, Thailand and US Transportation Security Administration.

On March 8 last year, MH370, which was en route to Beijing, China ‎with 239 passengers and crew.

‎MH 370 last made contact with air traffic control at 1.19 am, less than an hour after takeoff. ‎The aircraft disappeared from air traffic controllers' radar at 1:21am.

Come this March 8, it will be a year since the plane went missing ‎but the underwater search continuous in the 60,000 square kilometre priority area in the Southern Indian Ocean, coordinated by the Australian Joint ‎ Agency Coordination Centre.
