JOHOR BARU: The Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim heads the list of 83 award recipients at the investiture ceremony held in conjunction with the Sultan of Johor's coronation ceremony today.
State ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar gave out the awards in a ceremony held at the Istana Besar here. He was accompanied by his consort Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris.
Tunku Ismail was bestowed the Pangkat Pertama Datuk Sri Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SMIJ) award, which carries the title Datuk Sri Mulia.
The others bestowed with the SMIJ award include members of the Johor royal family, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris, Tunku Puteri Tunku Tun Aminah, Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar.
Sultan Ibrahim's mother Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Abdullah was also bestowed the SMIJ award.
Others that received the award were Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Johor Royal Council president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli.
Two other individuals were conferred the Pangkat Kedua Datuk Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (DMIJ) award, which carries the title Datuk Mulia. They are the Johor state secretary Datuk Ismail Karim and Johor state financial officer Marsan Kassim.
A total of 72 other individuals were also conferred various awards, including the Pangkat Ketiga Setia Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SIJ) and also the Pingat Sultan Ibrahim Kedua (PSI II) in conjunction with Sultan Ibrahim's coronation.
The list includes senior Johor palace officers, senior state government administrators and also state executive council members.
