KUALA LUMPUR: Popular nasyid group Brothers that made waves almost two decades ago is back in the music scene with the release of its latest album Sabar.
The group which consists of Yasin, Shah, Faiz and Salleh, is all in gear as they prepare for their first tour together after 10 years.
"It has been a long while. We miss the days when we were performing together as a group and meeting fans, while at the same time spreading positive messages through our songs.
"We are very excited about his tour. Hopefully everything will go smoothly,” said Yassin, one of the group's founding members in an interview with NST recently.
Although details on the tour are still sketchy, two neighbouring countries will be among the stops for the tour.
According to Faiz, in Malaysia, the showcase will be held in Johor Baru, Johor while venues for Singapore and Indonesia would be determined in due time.
“Apart from local fans, we have also received a lot of requests from those in the neighbouring countries who have expressed their hopes to see us performing in their countries. We are truly humbled by this and hopefully this tour can reach to as many places as possible,” said Faiz.
Originally scheduled to be held next month, the tour has been postponed to a later date to give way to the fasting month which will begin around the middle of next month.
"We are now looking at having it after Hari Raya Aidilfitri and all will be shared once we've received the confirmation,” said Faiz, adding that tickets for the show will be made available online soon.
One of the first nasyid singing groups to go mainstream in the mid-90s, Brothers broke into the music scene with Brother We Are... which featured the group’s first and most popular hit Teman Sejati.
Brothers' fifth album Sabar, features five new tracks - Sabar, Demi Cinta, Tawakallah, Kamaresyah and Allahuma, plus 15 hit songs taken from their previous albums.
Produced by Hush Entertainment, it is distributed by Arteffacts International and Sony Music Malaysia.
The album can also be purchased digitally via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, KKbox dan Deezer.
