KUCHING: The state government contributed RM1million in financial assistance to its counterpart in Sabah, to help those affected by the earthquake in Ranau.
In a statement issued by the State Information Department today, the contribution was handed over to Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman by Sarawak Second Resources and Environmental Planning Minister Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hassan.
Awang Tengah, who had represented Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem, handed over the contribution when he paid a courtesy visit to Musa at the latter's official residence in Kota Kinabalu.
"The courtesy visit reflected the Sarawak government's sympathy and concern over our neighbour in Sabah as well as those affected by the earthquake,"
