SEPANG: The Malaysian diplomat who allegedly committed several offences including sexual assault on a New Zealand woman will be sent back to Wellington to assist in investigations.
In a statement by the Foreign Ministry, the warrant officer II in the armed forces would be accompanied by a senior military officer on his return to New Zealand.
The decision to extradite the former officer was conveyed by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman to his counterpart, Foreign Affairs of New Zealand Minister Murray McCully this afternoon.
On May 9, the accused had followed a 21-year-old woman to her home and was nabbed by police for attempted burglary and assault with an intent to rape and was charged in court on May 10.
