CUPERTINO, (Calif): Malaysia is looking to work closer with Apple Inc., the maker of the iPhone, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak after visiting the Apple headquarters here.
He said Malaysia has asked the company to consider the possibility of setting up of an Apple store in Malaysia.
It could be the second Apple store in Southeast Asia after the proposed outlet in Singapore.
“We also hope to discuss with Apple to involve the company in an R&D centre with another party to leverage on technology to help enhance learning for children in Malaysia,” he said.
Najib held a meeting with Apple chief operating officer Jeff Williams and other Apple officials during the one-hour visit.
“Currently there are 10 schools in Malaysia that are using Apple technology in the learning process,” he said.
