KUCHING: Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem says he will not hesitate to ban anyone from entering the state as to protect the interest of the people.
Despite several opposition leaders slamming Adenan for abusing his power, Adenan said it was his job to look after the people.
"I had expected the opposition to accuse me of such. That's nothing new to me. Same old and recycled story," he said to reporters at a press conference held at Wisma Bapa here.
"But, it is my job to protect Sarawak and my people from unsavoury elements," he said.
Last week, Dap Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching and Dap member Ooi Leng Han were barred from entering Sarawak upon their arrival from Kuala Lumpur.
Teo was denied entry when she arrived at Bintulu Airport on Friday while Ooi was barred from entering the state at Kuching International Airport the next day.
