PUTRAJAYA: Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) 2015 was awarded to fan favourite Neelofa who clinched the most popular artiste award.
It was her first win. She received a trophy and the grand prize, a Volkswagen Passat, and she also won the award for popular television personality.
Berita Harian group editor Datuk Mahfar Ali and her fan club presented the trophy to her at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre here tonight (Sunday night).
Other winners included Nur Fathia Latiff for popular film actress, Sharnaaz Ahmad for popular film actor, Sufi Rashid for popular new male artiste, Mira Filzah for popular new female artiste, Aizat Amdan for popular male singer and Adira Suhaimi for popular female singer.
Awards were given out for 13 categories at ABPBH 2015, which carried the theme Respek (Respect).
The others were popular television actor (Sharnaaz Ahmad); popular television actress (Emma Maembong); popular comedian (Abam); popular duo/group (Wings); and popular radio personality (DJ Lin).
Veteran actress and singer Fauziah Ahmad Daud was presented the lifetime achievement award.
The awards was broadcast live on TV3 at 9pm and was hosted by Zizan Razak, Mira Filzah and Haiza.
There were performances by guest artistes, who included Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Hazami, Misha Omar and Estranged.
The awards categories were presented by Erma Fatima, Erra Fazira, Siti Saleha and Shaheizy Sam, among others.
Since its inception in 1987, ABPBH has been known as the "readers' choice awards".
Organised by Berita Harian, it has become the most prestigious awards show for the entertainment industry in Malaysia.
