#SHOWBIZ: KJ wins Popular Radio Announcer award [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Khairy Jamaluddin, former Health Minister turned radio personality, was crowned Popular Radio Presenter at the 36th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH).

Khairy's debut on Hot FM on February 15 last year quickly captured listeners' hearts, and his win was nothing short of expected.

Khairy, affectionately known as KJ, defeated more experienced radio hosts such as Tyzo, Haiza, DJ Sonic, and Sharifah Shahirah.

His win, driven by popular campaigns like #KJJadiDJ and #MenangSelfieMenangUndi, was anticipated due to the overwhelming support he received since joining Hot FM.

Additionally, strong support from his Bekpes Hot co-hosts Johan, Fara Fauzana, and AG, as well as other Media Prima Audio (MPA) stations like Kool 101, boosted Khairy's votes.

Hosted by Didie Alias, Haniff Hamzah and Riena Diana, the 8.30pm event was organised to honour Malaysian artistes and provide the opportunity for fans to choose the most popular amongst them.

ABPBH 36 was live on TV3 and streamed live on Tonton.

The event was graced by Media Prima group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid, Media Prima group managing director Mohd Rafiq Mat Razali, Media Prima Television Networks chief executive officer Nini Yusof, New Straits Times Press group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman and ABPBH 36 director Shamshul Azree Samshir.
