Tuhan Harun, followers ordered to submit defence over murder of JAIP officer

KUANTAN: The High Court today ordered Harun Mat Saat, known as 'Tuhan Harun', along with his five followers to submit their defence for criminal conspiracy for murdering Pahang Islamic Religious Department enforcement chief Ahmad Rafli Abdul Malek in 2013.

Judge Datuk Ab Karim Ab Rahman said the prosecution has established a prima facie case against the deviant sect leader and his followers.

Harun, 50; his third wife, Azida Mohd Zol, 33; their driver Shaizral Eddie Nizam Shaari, 40; and three followers Jefferi Safar, 39; Sumustapha Suradi, 41; and Shamsinar Abdul Halim, 39; along with another suspect still at large, were charged with criminal conspiracy to commit the murder at Lorong IM 2/29, Bandar Indera Mahkota near here about 1.50pm on Nov 10, 2013.

Ab Karim also ordered Shamsinar and Sumustapha to defend the charge of murdering Rafli on the same date, time and place.

The charge was read under Section 302 and 120B (1) of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code which provides for the mandatory death sentence, if convicted.
