GEORGE TOWN: Businesswoman Phang Li Khoon, who sold her Jalan Pinhorn bungalow to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, is believed to have been arrested by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers this afternoon.
Sources claimed that the arrest was made today and that Phang is believed to have been detained at the MACC headquarters.
It is not immediately known where and when Phang was arrested.
It was reported that MACC had stated that they had completed their probe into the bungalow purchase and had submitted the investigation papers to Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali.
It was reported that Lim and Phang had been under investigation by he MACC for alleged corrupt practices involving the purchase of the bungalow, which was allegedly bought by Lim for below market value on July 28 last year.
