Ayob Khan is now Special Branch's Counter-Terrorism Division principal assistant director

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal police today announced several transfers and promotions involving its senior officers at both federal and state levels.

The changes, which will be effective this Aug 11, include the promotion of the federal police Special Branch's Counter-Terrorism Division assistant director Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay to principal assistant director of the division, with the rank of acting deputy commissioner.

The federal police Commercial Crime Department (CCD) will see current Penang deputy police chief Datuk A. Thaiveegan as its new deputy director of commercial crime investigation.

Thaiveegan is taking over from Datuk Tajudin Md Isa, who is going to be the head of the Inspector-General of Police's Secretariat (Research and Development).

The statement, signed by Bukit Aman corporate communications head Datin Asmawati Ahmad, said the Royal Malaysian Police College's Management Sciences Centre will be headed by acting Senior Assistant Commissioner Dr. Mustafa Khan Abdul Samat.

Mustafa currently holds the rank of Assistant Commissioner as an assistant director at the federal police Management Department's Human Resources Policy Division.

In Terengganu, the state police headquarters' CCD chief Superintendent Koh Ah Tiam will be transferred to Bukit Aman as CCD principal assistant director (Operations/Technical Assistance). He is promoted to acting Assistant Commissioner.

Police Air Wing officer Superintendent Noor Sham Md Jani, who is currently in charge of Helicopter Section 2, is promoted to the wing's deputy commander and holds the rank of acting Assistant Commissioner.
