KUALA LUMPUR: Commuters using the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) will be able to use the Kelana Jaya Line for free from Sept 13 to Sept 15 next week.
The gesture of goodwill was offered by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) following the two incidences of service disruptions experienced by users this week.
Announcing this today, Prasarana Group Managing Director Datuk Azmi Abdul Aziz said the company would like to show its appreciation to its customers.
“On behalf of RapidRail Sdn Bhd (RapidRail), we would like to offer our sincerest apologies over the (two) incidents; this is our way of showing appreciation to our loyal commuters.
“We are indebted to all our customers and we want to provide the utmost comfort to our passengers," he told a press conference today.
Azmi was speaking to reporters on the disruption of the LRT train service from Gombak to Putra Heights, which led to trains stopping near the Sri Rampai and Damai stations.
Azmi said the incident this morning was due to an interruption to the train's power supply.
He said RapidRail will submit its report on the incident to the Land Public Transport Commission tomorrow morning.
