KUALA LUMPUR: Kelana Jaya LRT services between Wangsa Maju and Sri Rampai stations are currently suspended due to severe rainfall since 10.20am today (Oct 15).
In an official statement, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd confirmed that repair works were underway to address the flooding that damaged several track components, with power supply in the affected area temporarily halted to facilitate repairs.
"The incident occurred due to unusually heavy rainfall in the surrounding area, which flooded the ground-level track and caused significant damage," the statement read.
To assist passengers, shuttle train services have been activated between Gombak Station and Wangsa Maju Station, while trains from Putra Heights will now terminate at Wangsa Maju.
Additionally, twelve free shuttle buses are running every 15 minutes to help passengers continue their journeys. To ensure passenger safety and smooth operations, extra staff and auxiliary police have been deployed at the affected stations.
Rapid Rail will provide a service update at 3pm today (Oct 15), with the aim of completing repairs before the evening peak hour.
Meanwhile, passengers are advised to stay informed by checking ongoing announcements via Rapid KL's social media channels, as well as at stations and on trains.
