MARAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today called on Felda settlers to defend the government so that more improvements could be brought to them.
He said the government, on its part, will continue to help and improve the community where possible.
"I am not satisfied with the (rate of) progress and will implement more improvements for Felda," he said at the national-level Felda settlers' day
at Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Jengka here.
About 15,000 settlers and their families throughout the country gathered at the event.
Najib said it could be observed that since Felda has radically improved, it is no longer a ‘face of poverty.’
"Today, it can no longer be categorised as poor," he said, adding that positive change was brought about by implementation of various programmes and assistance from the government.
